The sci-fi elements kind of suddenly came out of nowhere, I'm much more accustomed to the spiritual elements in the first three Indiana Jones films, the sci-fi elements in 4 is just... I dunno, out of place? The overall film was good, just that sci-fi bits was out of place IMO. _________________

| thats exactly the problem. It's not that sci fi is bad, far from it, its just that its not what we've come to expect from Indiana Jones. Indy movies are fantasy based (even if 2/3 times its Judeo Christian fantasy based) |

The Happening...didn't really happen...
I saw The Happening this past weekend, and I would rank it as the worst M. Night Shyamalan movie, though I can't compare it to Lady in the Water, which I have yet to see.
Usually, movies have stories: a beginning, a middle, and an end. This movie lacks that sense of cohesion and instead feels like a series of random scenes of surviving the overall "happening." Don't expect the usual Shyamalan twist at the end. There is none.
P.S. If anyone sees this film, please explain to me the purpose in having the crazy old lady character. She's quite possibly the most random aspect of the whole film and marks the point where the "story" awkwardly shifts. _________________
