I'm currently rewriting the Kel Shop code for the new forum, and have decided to implement a limitation to the number of booster packs you can purchase at once.
At the moment i plan on having it so you can purchase no more than 4 booster packs in any 24 hour period (thats 20 cards).

As usual i want feedback on this if you have anything to say.
If not, then don't complain when it is done.

What's the logic behind this (not arguing with the idea, just want to hear it's reasoning).

Especially since I used to by packs by the dozens.

That is exactly the reason. What is the challenge in collecting all the cards when you can just go and buy 100 booster packs at once and get all the cards? (or trade your quintuples with someone who does have them)

It sounds to me like nice a way of making it easier for the people who find it hard, but harder for the people who find it easy.

Although would it not be possible to make it so the lower your collector level, the more likely you are to rarer cards or just a pack with no duplicates. (not counting the obvious fact that you have less cards so it's less likely anyway)

That would be theoretically possible i guess, but i hate to think what the code to do that would look like (rather than the current single sql query)

Like you said, this makes it easier for those who find it hard, and harder for those who find it easy, while still treating both ends of the spectrum in exactly the same way. Otherwise, people might start creating fake accounts simply to get rare cards. (a few people did this for the lvl 9 card offered in starter decks but i crack down hard when i find them out)
