| i'm sitting in my web page design class and i'm scanning the forum and i look at the banner... it's horrible, Sleip should have a contest where everyone submits a new banner for the site, and he should have a kel prize

I'm fairly certain there was going to be a similar contest a long time ago. It may not have been for kel, but I'm sure there were some who wanted to compete over creating a new set of banners for the various board styles.

I seem to remember a 'holiday banner' competition. Personally although the banner isn't that pretty, it would feel, wrong with anything different. At least for the default style.

Personally, i hate the Default banner. The other themes are good, but Default sucks...
The problem is, i can't think of anything that would look half decent with this theme.
I am, have always have been of the opinion "if you can do it better, give it here and i'll use it" - but nobody has risen successfully to the challenge.

The thing is, the banner needs to fit with the rest of the style.. aside from the black and light grey, that doesn't really fit that bill.
(thats another thing i didn't mention... i'm notoriously picky over these things)

Doesn't really fit in.
Since the Standard style is one of the least graphically intensive and probably the least overstated (red and black are very contrasting), I reckon it should just be a plain text title.
I don't mind the current banner, but I find that the design of the default to be the most appealing, it's pleasant to the eyes.

yes, it CAN be resized.
but the problem is it would make the "Sleipnir Stuff" letters so small that it would be come to small so i dont think it suit's the site very wel
i think it should have rether a bit of the current design like a sign with the name next to it or something
