Frozenland
"White, so much white."
The "land" of Europa is just a thick sheet of ice over its salt filled oceans, its the best chance of life outside of Terra, and life begets conflict. So fight it out! Frozen blood, dried blood, what difference is there? It's cold, there's low gravity and there sure as hell ain't any oxygen here. Better get those spacesuits. The surface isn't flat, though. Rather it forms a series of deep undulations and long, twisting canyons.

Glasshouse
(With thrown stones)

Venus, the inhospitable planet that shares the name of the Roman god of beauty. Poisonous, acidic beauty; the irony is perfect.

A large crystal box, called the glasshouse is supended just above the acidic clouds, all 7 of the walls have tall, wide, open doors that lead out onto the breathtaking balconeys. The whole thing is suspended by magic, and the crystal is undamagable.

Atlas
The titanic being, known as Atlas after the Greek myth, surrounds the Galaxy of Dione in a ring. The lifeform could be dead or alive, but no one knows particularly as it is probably lives on a vastly different timescale.

The surface is cold and barren, but it does have an atmosphere, the immense mass luckily has its own gravity. The skin is coated with all but invulnerable armour plates that overlap to form ridges. The surface is not slippery but is pockmarked with meteor hits and covered in dust left over from the same.

The sky is a very dark blue, with the stars easily visible.

High Wood
That copse which swallowed,
The trees that drank of our youth.

Remember the 1st of July, 1916

High wood is a large expanse of shellstruck trees that extends over the crest of a lage hill, in what was the Somme sector. The blasted stumps and felled timbers as well as the numerous shell holes make any kind of mounted movement an impossibility for all but fools. The bodies of men, hastily buried often lie at the bottoms of these holes, their bodies mangled of old and remangled by the new shellfalls are a gruesome, but bloodless sight, their lifeblood having already been sucked out by the ground around them. The air is pregnant with the stench of explosives, smoke...... and decaying bodies. A single whole body lies in the middle of huge blast crater from a touched off mine-bomb, the explosion consumed tons of explosives to destroy a redoubt in a single second.

First one, needa edit it around later on. Seems a tad long.

Quote:
Zone 8, Old York, 2019

A pale crimson sky covers this now desolate wasteland. Old York was once a glorious city, previously named New York, it was massed by a thriving population. But was torn apart by the never ending struggle between the Federation and the Civil Peace Force in 2014. Zone 8 was part of a long battle, but today is nothing more then an aged dumping ground for the warring factions.

Totaled vehicles both neutral and hostile scatter the area, guarded by large scrap piles, some nearly 6 feet high. Cover from hostile fire is easily found from weathered debris, and the unstable piles of scrap. There our semi-wide pathways cleared out through Zone 8, some 5-7 feet in length, created by surviving civilians for unknown reasons.

Old York's numerous sewage tunnels provided shelter for any remaining civilians during the war, but the tunnels have been abandoned since. Surrounding buildings were once used by CPF snipers and Infantry, though artillery rounds and missiles have destroyed sections of these unique advantage points, yet they still provided limited cover.

I think it's about time for this.

Forest of the dead:

This forest has been victim of many dark sorceries in this time, and as a result, they still linger to this very day. The time is always midnight, providing a nice glow from the fullmoon at all hours. Rotting corpses and skeletons are periodically thrown up from the ground, while new arrivals are drawn in, but the amount of dead lying around in the woods often outnumbers the amount of trees (Suitable quote, you can't see the forest for the trees). The forest also crawls with lurking undead creatures, everything from ghouls to ghosts haunt these parts.

However, the dangers of this part of the forest are nothing compared to those deeper in. The heart of this dark forest is where the dark magics are at their strongest, no creature has ever entered this section of the forest and lived. Not even the greatest liches or vampires can survive long against the onslaught of pure darkness.

A vulpine necromancer and her dracolich servant have taken up residence to help warn any who seek to enter, or guide those who absolutely have to around. Putting it bluntly, if you want through, you need this guide, and if you don't accept her offer, you're as good as dead.

Boss: Jade/Eldritch

Dragon lairs

Illadias lair:
this area was once a nice, flat plain, hidden within several mountain ranges. It was once laired by a might red dragon, which also chose to die here. He literally transformed his body into the hills, caves and other geographic features that now fill this land. The land is now laired by the black dragoness Illadia, as her father was the former inhabitant. She fights tenaciously on her land, and will escape if the battle goes poorly to deep, underground caverns, because she aspires to follow her fathers example, and an early death would ruin her chance.

Aesteriths lair:
A remote little island, though well known because of it's past and present. An ancient bronze dragon, Aesterith lairs here with his massive hoard, which includes many powerful magical items, thanks to the wizard who used to live on the same island. The tower remains as a tribute to his contribution to the dragons hoard. Aesterith receives many visitors, ranging from younger dragons to challenge him for his land and hoard, to one who would like the services of the mighty creature. Aesterith is a powerful dragon, and with his knowledge of magic items, is a force to be reckoned with, though he is diligent is disposing of the remains.

Magical Dump
A rough, but generally flat, purple washed wasteland of slightly mushy substance, the air is hazed with the magic that is saturating the area. All magic works at double power in this area. Though all magic users will find themselves as a discharge pole for magic surges.

Final battle ground:
Of all of the battles fought by this particular civilisation, this site marks the end of the most decisive battle they fought, also the end of an era. Scattered across the artificially flattened plain are the siege engines and war machines used by one faction, included ballistas, catapults, siege towers and battering rams, plus many more ancient warcraft. The corpses, still rotting slowly also decorate the scene. A single warrior still haunts this place, the Blade Runner Zealot often ponders here, any visitors can expect his attention, not in a good way.

Clay Legion
The figures of this pottery army are brown and dusty, all 7 feet tall and well muscled. They are not especially fragile and can survive much more than a man, but they are completely motionless under the dark earth. The only light is that pouring from a crystal, borne on the back of an atlas figure and it fades long before the ranks on ranks of watching warriors reach the end, in all directions.

Heart of darkness

At the centre of the forest of the dead, the power that corrupts all dwells. The dark power is at its strongest within a huge, hollow tree. All around the tree, tendrils of dark magic jag from cracks in the earth, and the very forest itself surrounding this place of darkness has twisted to form sharp spires which boast a fair share of corpses impaled on their limbs. The tree itself has swollen greatly to host the evil within. A pit inside leads to the deepest depths, in which the dark spirit itself resides. Any combatants will be forced into seeing unimaginable horrors, though those that make their way past these illusions are safe, until the spirit comes for them.

Another of Keero's requests

USAF Base Charlie 13
The cracking tarmac of this secluded former USAF base holds no more planes, in fact it is hard to tell anyone ever lived here now, as all signs of life have vanished leaving only their armoury. The dual hanger and runway combinations lie parallel side-by-side with the control tower in close proximity.

On the opposite side of the runways from the tower the rest of the working base lies, semi-submerged and made of reinforced conrete. The armoury, with anything from basic M-16s through to Stinger and Dragon missile launchers, including demolitions equipment and grenades of all sorts. The machine shop for repairs, complete with tools and bindings. The barracks is still complete with the bunks and lockers that were used by the garrison during their stay here.

The base is surrounded on 3 sides by mountains, the only approach twists slowly out of view and is covered at the end by a pair of pillboxes in front of a chainlink fence. From here a small suspension bridge crosses a smallish drop made by a river, the waterfall is a few hundred yards along the ravine from the bridge and makes for a spectacular view during offtime.

The Beach
"Life's a beach and then you die."

Glorious golden sands, bright blue water and a pristine sky overhead. The perfect day for a beach trip. But, no visitors here as this beach is on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. The stretch is flanked by a pair of cliffsides, curving out like horns. On the inland side a dense wall of jumbled jungle blocks your path. The beach extends halfway out of the bay, and the water is shallow to the edge, after which it drops sharply. The beach, is unruined by seaweed and other items of beach comber interest.

Starting sunday I'm going to post one or more arenas for every day of the week. Because I need something to take my mind off Sixth Form.
