• Patch was added to fix music.yaml for intro and map original RA music themes.
• Tao dlls are movied to openra root folder rather than gacutil installation.

Sorry for being stupid, but what is this about? I understand Gentoo is to do with linux, but that is all.

My interpretation is that ddd is testing alpha builds. Is that right? If so, I'd like to test too! If not, sorry.

This topic is intended for installing openra on Gentoo using an unofficial overlay for package openra and also for announces of new so called ebuilds. So the Gentoo user may syncronize with unofficial overlay and install the new version of openra by using just "emerge -u openra" command in Gentoo.

If you have Gentoo you may test an ebuild on ~x86 and other platforms. If you don't have Gentoo installed you may test new so called playtest openra packages by downloading them from official site:
http://open-ra.org/
(See "Unstable Playtests" section for you platform).

You may also grab git sources http://open-ra.org/get-involved/ and compile them to stay on the bleeding edge.

Ah right, excuse my naivety.

I probably will try out some unstable playtests, but would be in vain, both me and Sliepnir have macbook pros. (unless he doesn't have the 2.66 MHz 15"). Unless a univeral source will be released for my iBook G4! (edit) A non intel structure, is what i mean. Was there an old version for my PPC mac ever?

About gentoo... I tried to install ubuntu on the very same MBP, wiping the hard drive completely, so its a no-go for me again.

Git: I'll try that later, and test the playtests.

IDK about compatibility issues with Mac smth but I've just read the following note

Yup, read that it was intel macs and cried a little inside. Contrariwise, I use VPC7 to play real RA, so its fine. As for my MPB, I use OpenRA, so there's a little RA everywhere on my macs.

I've had OpenRA running on my old G4 PowerBook - its not pretty, and the ra mod doesn't work, but cnc runs. For the sake of staying on topic, please create a new thread if you want to continue on this topic and i'll give some pointers

• Old ebuilds, patches, unnecessary "inst_tao_deps.sh" and "openra-bin", "openra" script wrappers were all removed.
• All Ebuilds were rewritten in more Gentoo way according to EAPI 2.
• Desktop Entries were moved to theirs own Desktop Directory ("games-openra.menu" and "openra.directory" were added, "*.desktop" files were rewritten and validated).

You DOESN'T need to use '--no-check-certificate' option by adding to FETCHCOMMAND variable in '/etc/make.conf' ALREADY!
