My daily amusement counter just went up by 1.
They're called blue rats, but they have a grayish blue pigment to their fur. I found them to be more attractive than the usual white with black splotches and albinos common to pet stores in my area.

i had me a blue hamster once, bred her myself, parents were a "cream" father, and a "Satin silverback" mother... i think... could have been a "smoke pearl" father... damn that was like... 10 years ago, i'd have to dig out my "Hamster family tree", states who i bred with who.
was fun, we used to "Borrow" male hamsters to introduce new blood we even traded a "untamable" female, for the promice we'd give them 1 of her tamed offspring, as we did.
i was a tamer, not just a breeder, we only sold friendly hamsters... and 1 litter of nutcase in breeds
