I just saw an article in Xbox360 mag that previewed RA3. Maybe you guys knew beforehand but this is news to me, good news.
I've always preferred the RA games to the Tib C&Cs. They're just "wackier" and more fun imho.
And in this one you get to be the Japanese! With robot ninjas!
Anyone else think this might pump some new blood into the modding community? |

It'll do nothing for modding, it's still SAGE (even though a few sources are calling it a new engine, it's just revamped SAGE) and it's not suddenly going to have gone back to the Generals system of modding.
Having to compile and having tonnes of files scared off all the people who would have made the natural progression from previous games onto C&C3, RA3 won't be any different.
Not to mention the fact alot of it looks terrible _________________

I have seen some information about it on CNCNZ. I nearly got all the C&C Games. Well i need C&C Retaliation and Command & Conquer (The original) and the new expansion for C&C 3 known as Kanes Wrath.
I was hoping to get C&C RA3 myself aswell doggy, your not the only one mate.
I might get it for XBOX 360 or PC or perhaps both, anywho i hope i get a chance of testing Japan as a new part of testing factions for a living, mabye the soviet will have alot of new vehicles, infantry. Even the allies will. _________________ Left out while modding with his crew. But I'll Return one day |

yeah the soviets and allies will definately have a load more units. Goes without saying. You'd have a harder time spotting the units that are completely unchanged from previous games.
And personally, I'll only get this game on PC. For me, C&C games just don't work without a mouse and a keyboard. Its too weird otherwise. |

The only unit that appears to have not been replaced with an entirely different unit or visually changed significently is the Kirov. Which still looks identical to RA2. _________________

You can get keyboard/mice combos for the 360 and PS3 no?
Besides, I've played the original Red Alert on a console, and after a while, you get used to (and rather quick) with it. _________________

I'm sure you can get mice for xbox and ps3 but it wouldn't be the same would it?
I have a keypad (not board, pad) for xbox 360 which I use when chatting online, but most of the time its rubbish. |

A parachute-frog-bomber-launcher vehicle...
...thanks EA, that's TOTALLY Red Alert style. Graphics look good though. >_> _________________ “Although prepared for martyrdom, I preferred that it be postponed.”

In other news Frank Keplaki is doing the music, in a cheesy announcement video "I can't talk for long I'm busy composing *picks up guitar* Hell March 3" yes frank sure you are just as you happened to make that film you were composing the signature tune. _________________

He's not doing all of the music, he's just doing a few tracks. _________________

Counterpoint: the best track from TS's soundtrack, Pharotek, was one of two not done by Frank. The man is damn good, but you can only take so much of one guy's music... _________________

Pharotek was pretty bloody good, didn't know that wasn't Frank's.
It doesn't bother me either way, I'll probably turn the ingame music off and play the Red Alert soundtrack through my iPod (if I even buy the game, which I won't be unless the modding is less of a faff on). _________________

Agreed though I also didn't know it wasn't composed by him. _________________

Jarrid Mendelson. His work was mostly with TS/FS soundtracks it seems. _________________
